KARMAZIN DENTAL

Case Study 9

Case Study

This patient presented with a fractured 30 year old porcelain fused to metal crown.  His initial concern was the “look” of the broken crown.  We talked over options.  Should we replace 1 crown?  Should we replace 4 crowns?  Should we replace even MORE to even out the colors on his upper arch?

We quickly filled in the chip with some bonding while we could take more diagnostic photos and make a PLAN that the patient is excited about.

Together we ultimately decided to replace his existing 4 procelain fused to metal crowns.  Even with the challenge of teeth with LOTS of DIFFERENT colors throughout, by using a cosmetic driven dental lab we felt we could get the improvements we wanted.

PREP DAY!!!

The most fun day.  Patient leaves today with the prototype of how we want his future crowns to look.  The COLOR won’t be exact today, but as close as we can make it.  We spent lots of time taking photos, digital scans, impressions to give the lab all the information they need to make an incredible result.

When we called to check on him and see how his temporary crown were doing, he said they were doing great.   “Can I just keep these?”  He told us that his son commented on his teeth.  He said my son doesn’t notice anything let alone my teeth.

He loves them and thinks they blend in well and feel great.
