Implant Supported Bridges
Implant supported bridges are much like traditional bridges. Instead of being supported by dental crowns placed over the adjacent teeth, implant supported bridges attach to tiny titanium posts surgically embedded in the jawbone. The number of posts placed will depend on the size of the bridge.
Compassionate, efficient, and effective is how to describe the entire team at Karmazin Dental. The skills of each team member are unparalleled in the area. We live and breathe a collaborative approach in developing your personal oral health plan. You will not find a more technologically advanced practice that offers a more relaxing and comfortable setting. Your smile is our priority because we all strongly believe that your smile is a foundational gateway to your personality. It can drive your level of self-esteem and self-confidence. Call, text, or email us for an appointment for an evaluation on the benefits of an implant supported bridge for you. Our number is 605-323-1320 and you can find the entire team at Karmazin Dental, 5701 S. Remington Pl, Sioux Fall, SD 57108, where we have plenty of free parking.
With a traditional dental bridge, the artificial teeth are fused to two dental crowns, one each side of the artificial teeth, and then these crowns are placed on the adjoining healthy teeth to secure the bridge in place. An implant supported bridge does not need the support of these two abutment teeth. The artificial crowns are instead mounted to a stabilized dental implant. The implant is positioned in your jawbone in the gap. If there is not enough jawbone to adequately support the implant, a bone grafting procedure before the actual implant procedure can add the necessary density. The restorative crowns are then attached to abutments or extensions, which are small connectors that link the bridge to the implant.

Are You a Candidate for an Implant Supported Bridge?
Most people are qualified to have a single dental implant at Karmazin Dental. An implant-supported bridge usually requires a second implant, we will need to make sure that your jaw is strong enough and that there is adequate bone density. We will conduct an examination and take digital X-rays before we consider the procedure.
Also, you must understand the implant supported bridge will need extraordinary oral hygiene. An implant supported bridge is a permanent appliance that must be cleaned just like your natural teeth. Without the attachments to the two neighboring teeth, you can floss every day, and the artificial crowns will need to be brushed as well. Regular checkups every six months with Karmazin Dental are strongly encouraged as well.

Our focus at Karmazin Dental is to provide patients with the best course of treatment for them, period. For patients without dental insurance, we offer and in house membership plan, which gives the power BACK to our patients. By removing the restrictions of what insurance says they will or will not cover, patients get to spend their money the way they want.

Our philosophy is CUSTOMIZED ORAL CARE
Growth: Always in ALL – Ways
Gratitude: Our patients provide EVERYTHING
Relentless: Clinical Excellence & continuing OUR education
Never Settle: Provide excellence but have the humility to know we will never get there. There is always something more to do, learn and improve upon.
20/20: Complete transparency with our patients and our team.
Integrity to the Core: Do what we say and say what we think.
The Implant Supported Bridge Procedure
An implant-supported bridge will require several steps of treatment, which might take about six to nine months. After the initial evaluation at Karmazin Dental has confirmed the necessary bone density, we will surgically place the dental implants into the jawbone of tooth loss. After this surgery, the bone tissues need sufficient time to grow and fuse with the implants in a process called osseointegration.
After the osseointegration is completed, the second step will be to attach abutments, or extensions, to the implants. After this step of treatment, the gums will again need about two weeks to heal.
The final stage of implant supported bridge restoration is the actual placement of the custom designed bridge to these implant extensions. A special dental compound will be used to bond the dental bridge, with the artificial crowns, to the abutment posts. This secures your new implant supported bridge so that it becomes a natural part of your smile.
With continued preventative oral hygiene care at-home and scheduling your regular dental checkups every six months with Karmazin Dental, your implant supported bridge will last for decades, and you can smile and eat all the foods you enjoy. Your natural smile will be restored, you will have no stability issues with biting, chewing, and speaking, and the artificial root maintains the health of the jawbone so you will not experience any sagging with your facial structure.
